PROM is a mashup, combining the familiar end-of-high school initiation rite with a football game - in eternity. It is a template play - characters are newly invented for every production.
PROM was commissioned by and was twice produced at the Tony Award-winning Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis and once as a part of the Mandell Professionals In Residence Program at Drexel University in Philadelphia. All productions were directed by NPL Artistic Director Whit MacLaughlin.
It was recognized in Minneapolis as Best Stage Production of the Year, 2006.
It was published in the volume Fierce and True: Plays for Teen Audience, University of Minnesota Press.
