The Fab 4 Reach the Pearly Gates
The piece is based on an imagined, dreamlike meeting of the Beatles and three powerful, unpredictable angels in a mythical afterlife. The Four Lads From Liverpool are challenged by the angels, both physically and psychologically, and begin to unravel. The piece is allusive and whimsical in tone and is highly physical in style. The text is drawn from vintage interviews with the Beatles. The piece has an aggressive soundtrack that includes some Beatles’ music.
